We often receive questions about whether the SONR Coach system can be used during scuba diving.
Waterproof Rating
The SONR Receiver can be submerged up to 3 meters deep for up to 2 hours without damage.
The device is designed primarily for swimming and coaching at pool or near-surface depths.
Important Limitations
At depths greater than 3 meters (e.g., scuba diving at 5m or more), the water pressure may press against the receiver’s button.
This can potentially cause the device to turn OFF unexpectedly.
While the unit will not be permanently damaged at deeper depths, its functionality cannot be guaranteed.
Recommendation
The SONR Coach is not designed for scuba diving.
For best performance and safety, we recommend using the device only within the depth limits stated above.
If you’re looking for a solution specifically for scuba communication, please test the device carefully in shallow waters first and ensure it meets your specific needs.
