If your SONR Radio feels unusually warm or hot during use, it may be due to the VOX (Voice Activated Transmission) function.
What Causes Overheating?
The VOX function allows the radio to transmit sound automatically when it detects a voice or external audio (such as music placed near the radio).
If VOX is constantly active, the radio may remain in continuous transmission mode.
Continuous transmission creates heavy load on the hardware, which can cause the radio to become very hot over time.
What to Do
Check if the VOX function is enabled (Button D on the Radio, according to the instruction manual).
If VOX is always on, turn it off when not required.
Use VOX only for short periods.
Allow the radio to cool down if it becomes too warm before reusing it.
Important Notes
Constant VOX use may also reduce battery life significantly (to around 1–1.5 hours).
If the radio continues to overheat even when VOX is off, please contact SONR Support at support@sonr.pro for further assistance.
