Why does my SONR Radio beep every 15 seconds?

Modified on Tue, 16 Sep at 4:09 PM

If your SONR Radio emits a beep every 15 seconds, it is often related to the VOX (Voice Activated Transmission) function or normal system status.

What Causes the Beeping?

  1. VOX Function:

    • VOX allows the radio to automatically transmit sound when it detects a voice or audio nearby.

    • If VOX is enabled but not actively picking up sound, the radio may emit periodic beeps to indicate it is in standby mode and ready to transmit.

  2. Receiver Status Check:

    • The radio also emits a beep periodically to confirm that the paired receiver is active and connected.

    • This is a normal feature to ensure communication is functional during training.

How to Manage Beeping

  1. Check if the VOX function is turned on (Button D on the Radio, per the instruction manual).

  2. If the beeping is bothersome and VOX is not needed, turn VOX off.

  3. Beeps that occur to confirm receiver activity cannot be disabled, they ensure the system is working properly.

Important Notes

  • Beeping is normal behavior for VOX idle mode or as a receiver status check.

  • If the radio continues to beep abnormally or shows other irregular behavior, contact SONR Support at support@sonr.pro for assistance.
